There are various tricks to use to hide screws. One of the easiest and fastest ways is to hide the screws with wooden plugs. On this page we go through the steps for this method which gives an almost invisible enclosure.

As always, it is important to be careful, work with good materials and tools for a good result.

Tools and materials

  • Wood drill.
  • Small saw (Japan saw is good but basically any saw works).
  • Hammer.
  • Finished plugs or round wood stick in the same dimension as your wood drill.
  • Wood glue (for outdoor use if applicable).

1. Drill

Start by drilling a shallow hole about 2 inches deep.

2. Screw.

If necessary, pre-drill first, using a small wood drill so that the wood does not crack.

3. Plug

Apply a thin layer of glue to the sides of the wooden plug and hammer it gently with a hammer.

4. Saw

When the glue has dried, cut off the protruding piece.

5. Sand

Sand down the rest of the plug leftover and the glue around.

Done!

Good luck with your hidden screws.
