Description
DIY Plan for building a 90 L Planting Box, which is a square, compact wooden planting box with clean lines and a nice frame on top that provides a neat finish. The low, stable shape fits well on a patio, terrace, or in the garden when you want to grow herbs, lettuce, summer flowers, or smaller vegetables without taking up much space, and it also works nicely as a clear border around a small planting area.
The construction is built like a sturdy wooden box with vertical panel boards all around and a top rail that ties the sides together and makes the edge durable when you fill it with soil and clean it out. Underneath, there are small feet that lift the box off the ground and provide air underneath, which helps keep the wood fresher and allows water to drain away. The inside can be lined with landscape fabric or another protective material to keep the soil in place and reduce direct contact of the wood with moisture.
As a variation, you can choose interior cladding based on placement and how you want to manage drainage, and you can leave the box as natural wood or finish it to match the surrounding environment.
In this digital file, you will receive a DIY Plan in PDF format with a complete shopping list, cutting instructions with drawings, and step-by-step assembly instructions. The difficulty level is easy, and the building time is approximately 3–6 hours.
